Gerald Robinson, CCP, is a HIM Services Consultant/Coder/Auditor and CEO of a consulting firm offering integrated HIM consulting services, including HIM medical record compliance and education, coding and auditing support, and other solutions such as webinars, ICD-10 education and implementation, as well as billing services.
He has more than 12 years of healthcare industry experience. He has been responsible for fraud and abuse departments to ensure that documentation was in line with billing. He was responsible for physician practice audits, medical claims audits, billing & reimbursement and has worked with the Medicare HCC audits. He has also provided physician education as it relates to documentation compliance.
Gerald has worked with insurance companies, acute care hospitals, physician practices of all specialties as a coder, auditor and manager. He has worked with the Department of Defense army hospital as a coding supervisor and provider documentation trainer. He also has worked with colleges as an adjunct instructor as well as Director of a medical billing and healthcare reimbursement program which prepares students to receive their coding certifications from either AHIMA or AAPC. Gerald is also an AHIMA Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer and has trained several coders on ICD-10 as well as other areas of coding and compliance.
