Since the passage of the HITECH Act in 2009, there has been strong growth in health system adoption of EHR technology to meet the popular CMS Medicare and Medicaid Meaningful Use incentive program. As organizations continue to move through the first stage of Meaningful Use, It’s clear that the program is here to stay. Organizations should find ways to institutionalize their MU program to make it a sustainable part of their ongoing operations to reduce audit risk, ensure consistency, and achieve continued success with the ever more challenging requirements.
